The Blood of Jesus Christ is, without question, the blood of atonement for the sins of all humanity.

Throughout history, people have argued about it—some accepting its power, others rejecting it, and many simply misunderstanding its purpose. Nonetheless, concerning those who argue against the precious Blood of Jesus, I am not inclined to be harsh with them. Their problem is not necessarily that they hate the Blood of Jesus; rather, their problem is that they do not know. They are completely ignorant of its power, its purpose, and the great love that caused it to be shed.

The Blood of Jesus Christ is the Blood of God. It is not the blood of a mere prophet or a moral teacher; it is the sinless, eternal Blood of the Creator Himself, offered willingly for all mankind.

In the Old Testament, God required that animals be sacrificed, and their blood offered to atone for the sins of the people. This system, however, was always intended to be temporary; it was a shadow pointing toward a greater reality. The blood of bulls and goats could atone for sin, but could not take away sins. This means it could not and cannot transform the human heart.

So God, in His great love, chose to give us, mankind, a better covenant. He provided a better option, a perfect sacrifice, in the person of His one and only Son. An offering that would not merely atone for sin, but also provide complete cleansing. A cleansing that would not need to be repeated year after year, but offered once, for all time, for all people. This offering would, once and for all, reconcile us back to Him.

The New Testament presents Jesus's Blood as the perfect and final sacrifice, once for all. Hebrews 10:12–14: declares, "But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God... For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified".

Nevertheless, the Blood of Jesus Christ is not limited to the New Testament alone; in fact, it is the fulfillment of several Old Testament prophecies and overshadowing's. The most powerful example being the blood of the Passover lamb on the night of Passover in Egypt.

Just as the blood of the lamb on the doorposts caused the "destroyer" to "pass over" the Hebrew homes in Egypt as recorded in Exodus 12, so the Blood of Jesus Christ, the "Lamb of God," delivers everyone who believes in Him from spiritual death and judgment.

This is why the Blood of Jesus is forever so precious. It is precious to the Father, for it satisfied His justice and demonstrated His love for mankind. It is precious to the Son, for it was the price He gladly paid to claim His bride, the Church. The Blood of Jesus is precious to the Holy Spirit because it sealed the eternal covenant, The Spirit of God, who broods over all creation and inspires the prophets, looks upon the Blood of Jesus as the final, perfect sacrifice that makes us people holy and fit for His dwelling.

The Blood of Jesus must be precious to us as well, for it is our ONLY hope.

Now, you must understand that the Blood of Jesus is the only blood that can redeem, save, and atone for all wrongs or sins we have committed. Truly, no religion can do what the Blood of Jesus does daily on behalf of any person how much more, for the whole of mankind. No philosophy can achieve what the Blood has achieved and continues to, and no amount of human effort can accomplish what one drop of this precious Blood accomplished once and for all on the cross. Here is what Hebrews says about the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, “And to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:24

How powerful it is to know that the Blood of Jesus speaks for us! The Blood of Jesus speaks and still speaks better things on our behalf, unlike the blood of Abel that cried vengeance for his murder; the blood of Jesus is not crying vengeance.

So what is the Blood of Jesus saying? Well, here are some of the packages we receive from the Blood of Jesus Christ.

It speaks mercy, constantly mediating on our behalf by covering our failures with divine compassion. “.... and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkling of blood, speaking better things than that of Abel”. Hebrews12:24

It cries forgiveness, washing away every stain as though we had never sinned.

“Without this shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.” Hebrews 9:22

1 John 1:7 also boldly declares, But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

It speaks healing, bearing our sicknesses and carrying our pains. Isaiah 53:5 says, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."

It cries sanctification, setting us apart as holy and belonging to God. "Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood". Hebrews 13:12, also Hebrews 10:10 "By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all".

It cries justification, declaring us righteous not by our works but by His work.
According to Romans 5:9, "Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God."

It speaks peace, reconciling us to the Father and silencing every enemy. "For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him to reconcile everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross." Col. 1:19-20

It cries access, opening the way for us to enter boldly into the presence of God. Again, Hebrews 1-:19-22 says we have "confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,"

It cries eternal redemption, securing our future not for a season but forever. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace." Eph 1:17

It speaks of protection from the power of darkness. Col 1:13 says, "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”

It speaks of freedom. Freedom from condemnation, sin, Satan, etc.

Gal. 5:1 declares, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery".

Rev. 15:1 also says, "...To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood."

Finally, brethren, the Blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ gives us Victory!
Victory over Satan, his kingdom, and his works. It is the weapon that defeats Satan. The Blood of Jesus silences every accusation of Satan and guarantees our continuous victory. And so Revelation 12:11 seals it all: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”.

Amen and Amem forever! The Blood of Jesus Christ stands as the unshakeable evidence that the debt of sin has been paid in full, and we are more than conquerors.

Throughout Scripture, the Blood of Jesus is given many titles that reveal its depth and purpose:

The Blood of Sprinkling: It cleanses our conscience and sanctifies us.

The Blood of the New Covenant: It seals God's new promise of grace with us.

The Blood of the Eternal Covenant: It operates outside of time, securing our eternal redemption.

The Blood of Atonement: It covers our sin and reconciles us to God.

The Blood of the Lamb: Jesus the obedient lamb of God, "He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth". Isaiah 53:7

Understand today that the Blood of Jesus Christ is a covenant blood, and as such, it demands a response of reverence and value. In ancient times, covenants were sealed with blood, signifying a binding, unbreakable agreement.

So must we also have an unbreakable covenant agreement with the Blood of Jesus. Personally, I entered into a covenant agreement with the Blood of Jesus, as a covering over my family, and for the Blood to speak on my behalf and beloved, the Blood of Jesus has never failed me. Because the Blood of Jesus Christ is God personified.

Understand that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself according to 2 Corinthians 5:19. So the spilled Blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary wasn’t merely the blood of a martyr or a holy man. Acts 20:28 states that God purchased the church with "His own blood," which includes you and me.

This, therefore, means that the Blood belongs to God Almighty Himself, because Jesus is God incarnate.

You can call on the Blood for any help, it is wise to enter into a covenant agreement with the Blood, for the Blood of Jesus saves. We shall talk more on this in our next issue.

When we approach the Blood with reverence, we recognize that we are not our own, but have been bought wit1 Peter 1:18-19 says, "...you were actually purchased with precious blood like that of a sacrificial lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ" and Revelation 5:9 also affirms: "...for you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation."

Is it not such a wonder, a powerful mystery, that God used blood to begin the plague in Egypt, and ended with blood on the night of the killing of the passover lamb? Indeed, the very first plague was the plague of their water turning into blood. In Exodus 7:14–24, Moses and Aaron, at the command of God, turned the Nile River and all Egyptian water sources into blood. Although the magicians foolishly replicated the feat, they could not reverse it, and they did not understand the mystery that God sent the Blood to subdue the land and begin His judgment.

Do not underestimate the power of the Blood of Jesus. It is a powerful weapon of warfare.

Finally, let us not forget that ultimately, the Blood of Jesus conquered death on our behalf. The ultimate enemy of mankind is death, yet the Blood of Jesus Christ stands as the definitive conqueror of the grave. When sin entered the world, death followed as its wages, but the Blood of Jesus paid those wages in full. On the cross, as His Blood was poured out, the Blood of our Saviour disarmed death of its sting. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, Paul writes: “O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Three days later, the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ our Saviour from death proved that the Blood had not only covered sin but had vanquished death itself. Death could not hold Him captive, because the sinless Blood He shed was pure and carried no claim from the grave. So even in the grave, Jesus was Lord, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15

Thus, death has no sting for the believer because the Blood of Jesus has completely washed away every sin, and so for every soul covered by that Blood, death is no longer an end, but a glorious beginning.

This is our blessed assurance:
